Make your own Dragon Applique with Sondra Von Burg Saturday, April 25th (1pm-4pm)
If you have admired Sondra’s dragon quilts, here is your opportunity to start your own. Sondra will take you step by step through her drawing and painting techniques Helping you to create your own dragon ready for appliqué. Students choose from Sondra’s many patterns or they may bring their own picture to work from.
Supplies to bring to class: Cotton fabric of your choice big enough to accommodate the size of your dragon (a light color is best) A piece of foam core board bigger than desired size of dragon Mechanical pencil 2 plastic garbage bags masking tape pencil sharpener *Derwent “Inktense” color pencils in your dragon’s colors, 3-5 shades and at least 2 different shades of opposite color, ie. red dragon = 1 medium red, 1 dark red, 1 orange or yellow, 1 purple, 1 indigo. (Sondra will have many extra to borrow if you don’t bring enough.)
*You can buy these individually at Dick Blick. Sondra recommends that you go to a store and look at them rather than buying on line.
