Thank you SO much for all of love and support you've shown us!

We would not be here celebrating 5 years of being open if it wasn't for you. Every single day we feel so honored and blessed to be here and part of the community. The last year was full of trials and tribulations we never thought we'd have to make. We persevered and held our heads and hearts up and made many sacrifice to keep our doors open. At the end of the day we are here celebrating our 5 year anniversary because of every single one of you who helped keep us going with your support, love, warm thoughts, and kind words.

Bay Quilts has always been our dream but it would have never been possible without the support and love surrounding us. At the end of the day we know how lucky we are to have each and every one of you creating the heart of our business.

Thank you so much for 5 beautiful years!

Even though our shop is now open Monday through Saturday from 10am-3pm we are still following safety protocols to protect our community and keep everyone safe and healthy. This sadly means we are only allowing 12 people in the shop at a time so we will not be able to celebrate at the shop with a big party as we hoped we would be.

Since we can't have a party and celebrate with everyone all at once we wanted to do something fun so we are offering different and fun sales every day in September!

We are not announcing our daily sales ahead of time but we will drop hints on social media about the sale days you really won't want to miss like 25% off Grunge, Kona Solids, and Tula Pink! Keep your eyes open on Instagram and Facebook in the evenings to see when those sales will be. Don't worry,  If you don't have instagram or facebook you can just visit our webpage to see the posts we are making on social media.
Just click this link to be directed to our Instagram page on our website.

Every invoice created in our shop or from our webpage will receive one raffle ticket entry for our month long raffle.  Every few days we will have a drawing for some of the smaller gifts and giveaway items and contact the winners by phone. On Sunday, September 26th we will be on Instagram Live celebrating our 5 year anniversary and will be raffling off the larger gift items.

We wish more than anything that we could be celebrating in person with all of you. It is very sad to reach such a profound and special milestone at our shop and not be able to share the moment with everyone who made our shop and dream a reality. Last year we had to celebrate on Instagram Live due to the lock down and we thought surely by our next anniversary that we would all be together again celebrating in person, but unfortunately we will be celebrating virtually again this year.

Abbeyshane and Sally will go Live on Instagram on Sunday, September 26th at 1pm PST to connect with you and celebrate our 5 year anniversary. We plan to give you some updates, talk about our year, and show you some new things at the shop. We hope you can join us on Instagram so we can chat with you and see what you have been up to. We miss you all so much and truly wish we could be celebrating in person. The shop is not the same without all of your smiling faces! We feel so blessed to have made it to 5 years and hope to be here for years and years to come!

Please join os on Sunday, September 26th at 1pm PST on Instagram Live to celebrate with us!

September Gallery Exhibit

Quilts by Susan Fuller

Quilt by Susan Fuller

"CARWASH: TRINIDAD, CUBA"

A Cuban man, with a rag and a bucket nearby, leans his chair against a crude utility pole, waiting for a 1950’s Chevy that needs a touch-up.

Artist Statement:

"My intention was to exhibit quilts that combine my two passions – quilting and international travel. Not only did Covid hijack any travel plans for nearly two years, but it also took over my creativity and concentration. So, in addition to my pictorial quilts, this show includes some pandemic sanity projects – mostly made in Zoom classes and workshops in the last year.

I am a self-taught quilter from generations of makers in many media – textiles, woodworking, watercolor. I made my first quilt in the early 1970s, using fabric from thrift store dresses and my own pattern. Over the years, I have had many interruptions in my creative activity, but since retirement, quilting has taken on more importance."

Exhibit Information:

Susan Fuller has 16 quilts being featured at Bay Quilts in our gallery in September. You can view these quilts now until September 30th during our business hours. We are open Monday-Saturday from 10am-3pm.

Instagram Live Gallery Event:
September 22nd at 3pm PST

We will be having an Instagram Live gallery event in September so everyone who can't make it in the shop can view these beautiful quilts. This is Susans first solo exhibition and we know it won't be her last. These quilts are so stunning and special that we highly recommend coming to see them in person.

Bay Quilts NEW Sewing Groups

Please read all of the following information before calling the shop to sign up

We are excited to announce 3 NEW quilting groups at Bay Quilts! A few years ago we announced that we were starting mini groups at our shop. We love facilitating all the people that signed up. We ended up having 4 different groups due to the high amount of signs ups!  This time around we are starting 3 new Wednesday groups for our community.

This is a wonderful way to meet other creative people in the community. Our goal is to connect people together who want to form different connections and bond through sewing, quilting, or crafting.

There are no teachers or guidelines for these groups, when you come to the shop you will bring your own projects to work on. While many people just like to have company or space to sew a few of the groups in the past started their own challenges and themes for their meetings. It’s the perfect time to bring in your projects every month to do a “show and tell” with the group and also get helpful tips and tricks from everyone else in the group. There are no limits and each group decides what direction they want to go in. We love watching the groups grow over time and hearing the laughter from our workshop loft flow freely into our shop. It’s so lovely to see a group of people who’ve never met before become friends as quick as it takes to thread a needle.

These groups are intended to run indefinitely for hopefully years to come. Please check your schedules before you sign up to make sure you can attend every month. If you know you won’t be available for a long term group commitment please leave the space open for someone else. In the future we will be offering workshops again and different drop-ins for anyone who occasionally wants to participate in a group setting.

To keep everyone safe and protected we are only allowing 8 people per group. This will allow everyone to have adequate space in the workshop loft while also being mindful of social distancing protocols. Since the groups will be smaller we are only allowing people to sign up for one of the groups at this time. Due to the high demand for quilting groups its only fair to give everyone an opportunity to join a group so you can only sign up for one of the 3 groups at this time.

Group Information:

  • Each group is assigned a set day at the shop for every month. For example, Group A will meet on the 2nd Wednesday of every month, Group B will meet on the 3rd Wednesday, and Group C will meet on the 4th Wednesday.

  • Groups are held during our business hours and we encourage everyone to be here to set up when we open at 10am. Our current hours of operation are 10am-3pm and everyone is allowed to stay at the shop until 3pm.

  • For safety and spacing reasons only 8 people allowed per group at this time. The spaces fill up quick so check your calendars and sign up quickly.

Requirements:

  • You must be vaccinated to join one of the groups at the shop and will require everyone to provide proof of vaccination. We will ask you to bring in your vaccination card with you on the first day of the group so we can photocopy it and keep it for our records.

  • Everyone must wear masks not only while in our store but also upstairs in our workshop loft while the group is in session.

  • Groups are intended to run indefinitely. Please check your schedules before you sign up to make sure you can attend every month. These groups are intended to run for years to come so If you know you wont be available for a long term group commitment please leave the space open for someone else.

Support Local Artists!

We are firm believes in supporting small local business and artists. We carry a lot of handmade items at the shop made by different artists in the area. We knew before we opened the shop that we wanted to have and feature items made by the one and only Sondra Von Burg. We have known Sondra for over 20 years and she is known as a trailblazer in the industry for pushing the creative limits and blending art into quilts. We have a large variety of her items on display and just  in time for the Holidays! Sondra makes so many different items that you will be sure to find something for everyone on your list. Wether you are looking for a small stocking stuffer or a gifts for friends, family, or coworkers you will for sure be able to find something perfect from Sondra's assortment of handmade items. Start your holiday shopping early this year and come visit us at the shop and  see what Sondra has made. We have some of Sondra's zippered pouches, coffee coozies, aprons, skull masks, patterns, wine bags, and of course her iconic fairy, mermaid, and wall dolls.

Just A Reminder!

Please bring in a reusable shopping bag if you think you'll need one with your purchase.

Last year we made a resolution to help our planet and are doing our part by no longer offering single use plastic bags. We try to save some of the plastic bags that our fabric is shipped to us in to reuse them and will occasionally have those for customers to use if absolutely necessary. California requires businesses to charge anyone for bags in hopes that it cuts down on the waste and encourages people to bring in reusable bags.

Please join us on our mission to help our beautiful planet. Ever small action helps!

We have reusable bags for purchase at the shop for $1.50
